Check the thermostat and breaker
First, make sure the thermostat is set to "cool." Next, check your breaker box. If a breaker for the AC is off or tripped, the outside unit will not run, and you will only get warm air.
The outside unit is dirty or blocked
Your outside unit needs airflow to work. Dust, leaves, and weeds can block it. Gently clear away anything close to it. In dusty Scottsdale, this happens a lot.
Low refrigerant
